First Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Screenshots!

New screenshots released for the upcoming Mario + Sonic game pairing for both the Wii and the DS. The game is due out sometime in November. The craziest Olympics game ever? We will soon find out!

Nintendo and Sega have released the first screenshots for the upcoming game Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games.

Gone are the days of getting the message "Not cool enough" when you enter "Sonic" as your name in a Nintendo game, and here is the first game that sees Mario and Sonic pitting out against each other.

Due out this November on both Wii and DS, Mario & Sonic will see the cast of Mario and Sonic games (including Mario, Sonic, Luigi, Tails, Peach, Eggman/Robotnic, Knuckles and Bowser) pitting against each other to win the Olympics - plus it's an official Beijing 2008 product.

    It's great that they finally combine these two early '90s heroes, but in an olympic game? Couldn't they think of anything better like a Super Mario/Sonic World? Sonic will win the races -_-

    Well if this does well then I'm sure we will see a future team-up in a different type of game.

    But it really doesn't matter. With a team-up like this the sales in just Japan alone will probably be phenoman-... phenomo-... astounding.

    I think this game looks great, it's nice to see Sonic and Mario team up like this. I was quite into Olympic games in the past, and with the addition of the 'Mario magic' it'll be great fun.

    How Mario is ever going to beat Sonic in a race is anyone's guess though, haha.

    I wouldn't be suprised iLLmatic, Nintendo sure do love their Mario.

    I think the game looks pretty good. I used to enjoy Mario and Sonic games on the GameCube, so I'd like to see what my reaction is when they're both together in one game - despite it not being on GC.

    I am sure I will get this game, I wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo had this game trigger an unlock-able Sonic character in Super Smash Brothers Brawl.

    Well, it's unlikely that characters will remain completely true to their platforming selves. Take Bowser in any sports game as an example. He's always much smaller than he appears in the Mario platform games. I imagine Sonic's speed will be toned down.

    Anyway, this isn't exactly what I had thought of when I considered a Mario and Sonic combo, but it's certainly interesting to see the classic icons together.

    Yeah they'll definitely be changes of some sort. I can imagine Mario's speed being increased tenfold, haha.

    Looks nice. Seeing as I'm both a Mario fan and a Sonic fan, I'll have play this game. But as Storm said, Sonic will obviously be the fastest character.

    Some things will be toned down in the game for sure. But still interesting to see what happens.

    I enjoy these little mario&friend games, I'm probably going to get this one.
