The front cover boxart for Killzone 3 has been revealed. Showing off a helghast fighting his way through the harsh cold weather of the polar caps of helghan. The cover looks pretty cool...minus all the logos!

Make the title font more rusty-rough and you've got a winner.

    Also, co-op or bust!

Not rusty, just needs to blend better. Orange over white/blue doesn't look so good on it's own.

Agreed, the font needs the helghast touch. Looks great.

Haha, did you check the profile today? I just submitted that earlier. I like the look of it although the logo is a bit too clean, compared to the others.

With the increase in snow-themes, am I the only one thinking white is the new greyish-brown?

Lol it could be. Of course it's probably just that the snow levels are the most complete, so they showed them first, and since its probably going to stick their using it in the boxart.

At least I hope so, an entire snowy game isn't much better than an entire grey one.

They made it clear that there would be variety in environments; alien jungles were even mentioned

Snow is the new thing because they finally have the technology to have believable snow gameplay. Developers are always going to mess around with things that work if they haven't really worked well before. I mean when I used to think of gaming snow I think of SSX and that snow was terrible.. Now gaming snow makes me think of Uncharted 2 which perfected it.

          Alien jungles? Yay variety

Well if you'd rather play Killzone 3 in the prairies, there isn't much else aside from jungles, snow, and cityscapes

Not really. Be imaginative. Atlantic style underwater civilisations hasn't been done before with FPS's. Different alien landscapes with different minerals making up the land and batshit weather to accompany it. So on, so forth; it's there job to think of them, not mine, but they exist. There's more to life than prairies, jungles, snow and cityscapes.

Still, it's a cliche FPS for a reason, so what can I expect from it?

Somehow I doubt underwater civilization would fit the Helghast canon. And different minerals making the landscape boils down into rocky terrain; I can imagine that would get repetitive as well.

But meh; I'll play the game regardless.

Not really, give it specific properties that would affect gameplay as well as aesthetics and it's sweet. And I'm not sure about Helghast canon but I'm sure them taking over an underwater civilisation on whatever planet they're on could be worked in pretty easily. The simple point is jungles are overplayed. Snowy climates are overplayed. There's no imagination in it.

Well so far all we've seen is the Snow level. I'm sure there'll be something to your liking in the game at some point.

Hasn't been in the other ones, I wouldn't be so hopeful.

Well, I guess you can always play Bulletstorm when the time comes. Though at this point I'm at a loss what to suggest.

I don't know what Bulletstorm is but the name alone makes me vomit.
