Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core - new characters revealed

Gothic Girl | August 03, 2007 | Screenshots | Playstation Portable
The official Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core website has been updated with two new character profiles: Aerith Gaisborough (from the original FFVII) and an "older" version of Zack.
The profiles include new information about said characters.
Older Zack:
  • Zack, after he has changed his hairstyle during the story. (It's the same hairstyle he had in the original FFVII and AC).
  • Has there been a change in his mental-state after his long-awaited promotion to 1st Class SOLDIER?
  • His position as a SOLDIER is to give directions to young SOLDIERs and ShinRa troops.

    Aerith:
  • A descendant of the Ancients.
  • Growing her precious flowers in Midgar, she first meets Zack in the slum's church.
  • As in the original FFVII, Aerith is in a situation where she is constantly being monitored by the ShinRa company.

In the original FF7 it was Aeris but apparently it's supposed to be spelt Aerith though it's still pronounced as "Aeris" anyway. Bit confusing really:P.

Thats due to 2 different ways of spelling her name. For Ex:Thomas is the same as tommy or tom. Same can be characterized for her name, just two different ways of saying her name.

Actually, Aeris was a mistranslation of her Japanese name "Earisu" (as the Japanese don't have a "th" in their alphabet, they use "su" instead).
But her name has been fixed now for the othr FFVII Compilation games, so she's officially "Aerith" now.

As Gary said, it should still be pronounced "Aeris", since it sounds better, and "Aerith" is an absolute bitch to say. But judging from the KH games, the pronounciation of her name has also been changed. >_>

I would not classify them as new as we all knew they were going to be in it, or they had to be one way or another.. It just would not make sence if they didnt

Aeris looks best in this game...all she needs now is her attire from FFVII. Zack is doing a post that Cloud did, right? Looks that way to me.
