LucasArts has released the first screenshots of the Nintendo Wii version of Thrilville: Off the rails - and they're awful. Another example of developers under-utilising the power of the console to produce graphics that look more akin to that of the N64 than a next-generation console.

The growing examples of Nintendo Wii developers underperforming in the graphics stakes is quite a concern. Yes, the drive has been in 'gameplay/controls over graphics,' but we see no reason to deliver such completely sub-par aesthetical efforts as this.

A sequel to the original Thrillville (released on the Sony PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable and Microsoft Xbox), Off the Rails hopes to build on the success of the original, with greater depth and interactivity. Gamers will be challenged in more than 100 missions, which include 20 death-defying rides. In addition, a 34 playable multiplayer theme park will offer improved social interaction with visitors to the park, relaying in-depth conversations and the chance to build a close relationship with your customers.

Thrillville was already boring and bad graphics but look at this! Maybe Sony can give Nintendo a few tips on having good graphics on next-gen consoles. The graphics are better on Mario Kart and much more fun than Thrillville.

It's not graphics that make the game, man, it's what's inside that matters.

Oh, who am I kidding, those graphics suck!

Do they even care about making their game?

    No effort. Fail.
