Stunning New CryENGINE 2 Shots!

The CryEngine 2 does truly show what it's capable of with these new screens. They just leave you gawping for sometime. It makes you think how much technology has advanced. These screens were taken from a PC mod for the upcoming game Crysis.

    Those are amazing. It's incredible to see this when you remember games like Donkey Kong Country or The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, which looked stunning at the time. Graphics have really changed in a few years.

    Wow! Very nice and realistic. This is one of the reasons Crysis is going to be a fantastic game, maybe the best PC game ever?

      The pictures are off a mod / seperate title for CryEngine2.

      Crysis will be impressive for the visual impressions and hopefully for more of the mechanics, but it's doubtful it would be considered the best PC game ever, given the development of gaming over the decades, it's hard to say if there would ever be such a thing.

        Yeah what's crazy is this is a testament at just how amazing CryEngine2 makes your games look. Even if you're just a group of kids/adults that are making a free mod for a game.

    Hey is Crysis only for PC or is it going to be on a Console.

      Crysis is PC-only. It might be ported to consoles, but like Far Cry, Crytek won't be touching that one. Instead, another developer will do that (in Far Cry's case, Ubisoft, and in Crysis's case, most likely EA). Cryek said that they won't do one, though.

      Just so you know, that isn't Crysis. That is just the engine it uses. Crysis doesn't look as good as that (although it does look beautiful). This is just to show what the engine is capable of doing.

        Hopefully if someone ports it (likely) they will be better than the abominations that Far Cry spawned unto the consoles.

    I just hope we get something as close to that on the Ps3.
