Top 5 Sega Genesis Games of All Time

Zeromage | July 27, 2008 | Top List | SEGA GENESIS
It is well know that the staff at Old-Wizard.com aren't big fans of the Sega Genesis, and that's what makes this list so interesting. The site lists what they think are the five best Sega Genesis games of all time.
#5. Ecco the Dolphin:

Ecco the Dolphin was a mysterious game. Packed with an ambient soundtrack on par with an early Moby record, Ecco the Dolphin would become an underrated classic. There you were as a dolphin trying to save your family. Along the way, you would meet friends who would help you find them. Sonar would be translated into English, as the player was able to experience to closest thing to dolphin life in virtual reality. The final boss would be a difficult battle but with the right thrust attacks; you could knock this monster’s jaw to the bottom of the ocean forever, saving your family and going down as the rightful dolphin hero in the video game world. Saving marine life has never been as much fun as it is in this Sega Genesis game

i only botheres to read the toejam and earl part, because thats really the only game worth taking to time to notice.

i was annoyed. it was all sentences. the sentences were short. short like this. over and over. and over. just one short FYI after another. thats not writing.

not only was the article about a list, the paragraphs are essentially lists, too.

The only game out of that entire list I have ever played is Sonic 2 (well, ok, I've played ecco 2, but thats besides the point). I am glad sonic 2 made it. That is the best sonic game ever. I know people will probably disagree with me. But sonic 2 was also the only genesis game that I played so much that the cartridge broke

Ah, Sonic 2, definitely agree with that being up there. Streets of Rage was better than it's sequels, imo.

I had/have Ecco 1 and 2 (never finished, never got far, TBH, I hear it was a tough game). I have Sonic, Sonic 2, Sonic and Knuckles, Sonic 3D Blast.....Was there a Sonic 3? If so, I probably had that too....

Sold a bunch of the games to my aunt (along with a Genesis), but I still have another Genesis (though I technically gave that to my younger bro).....

I clocked about 300 total hours of Sonic 2, and I still play it occasionally. Sonic 3 wasn't as good as Sonic 2, but it was still good.

I played Ecco the Dolphin (it was my first video game I ever played) for a few hours when I first got my Genesis. Unfortunately I was just borrowing it, and so it went back to him shortly after and I never played it again.

I've never played the others though.

All side scrolling Sonic Genesis games were awesome. Enough said.

No Dynamite Headdy or Gunstar Heroes.

    Fail.
