The 20 most influential things in gaming

ScrewAttack goes through their 20 most influential entities in the gaming industry - dating as far back as the Atari 2600. Ranging from hardware innovations, energy drinks, LAN parties, to even specific games - this list is a worthwhile read to see what has influenced where gaming has been, and what has made it so great today.

That list looks pretty spot-on to me. Starcraft, LAN parties, and game mods are awesome.

The Internet definitely deserves to be number 1. Without it, we wouldn't have Xbox Live, PSN, or all the other dedicated servers out there.

I don't think that online serices like Xbox Line were what they were getting at, I think it's just the ability to communicate with the rest of the world as a whole.

Ok list, I had a fealing the NES would be up there.

I agree with most of that, except Bawls, never heard of it. Unless it's an American only thing? It's a shame "wasd" isn't further up.

Bawls is a legendary energy drink, although it's more widely available now (7-11). It goes very well with vodka.

Great list. Starcraft and eSports are definitely my favourites.

It can be somewhat rare though. The only place, near me, I know that has it. (besides my friend who lives next door who orders it by the crate) is Target almost 60 miles away. I live in Montana btw... which explains some of that

There is no Micro Center, Fry's Electronic, or Comp USA near by?

You know, I should get a Bawls for my friend at work. He is constantly drinking Monster. Bawls might be a bit expensive but it would certainly wake him up.

Those stores are around too, but they're in the same city as Target. The only store like that closer is Radioshack, whom, on top of having no Bawls is also extra expensive. I really don't mind much though.

I lol'd at Tetris. That game is more addictive than crack.

The list was pretty well put together, with most of them put in the right spots they deserve. I've never heard of Bawls either, but I may try it out sometime.

All in all this was a great list...

One thing that was missing though (in my opinion)

DnD - I mean seriously - that revolutionized gaming and gaming schematics/mechanics from the ground up.
