It depends on what people count as "beautiful". I'd consider Okami to be up there because it's unique and artistic style makes it stand out, and Mirror's Edge because it's just gorgeous to look at because of it's colors. While other gamers might consider Fallout 3 to be "beautiful" because of it's detailed graphics.

Personally, I can see why most of them are up there. Some are odd choices though (Megaman 9? Metroid? Halo 3?).

I'd also put Super Mario Galaxy (it's graphical design is just ... fascinating to look at) or Fatal Frame 2 (the use of contrast and color in that game is amazing) on the list.

Okami, Shadow of Colossus.. those games I would definitely agree on. Both, despite being PS2 originals, made a bigger impression on me than many "next gen" games. Oblivion was another "beautiful" game in my opinon. I guess I could see Mirror's Edge being on the list but it's not out yet. Team Fortress 2 is stylish, but beautiful? Hrm...

The list as a whole is random, but so is the criteria. Top 10 most beautiful games? I'm sorry, but that is horribly vague. The title of the GG post is really claiming a lot too -- "of all time"?

I can agree with the poster's comments. Some of those games may just have been chosen for the hype/popularity. "Beautiful" games don't always get the attention they deserve.

Megaman 9 is ugly as shit. I mean it's nostalgic and all, and I think most people wouldn't have it any other way. It's certainly not beautiful though, at least not visually.

Only two I agree with is Metroid Prime and Okami.

Well if you read what I said, they held a poll where all the people of the site voted to see what the site, as a whole, thought the most beautiful games were. Unless you're joking, in which case poor show. ;.;

Odin Sphere is a beautiful game. Great, high resolution graphics don't make a game beautiful. That's like saying designer dresses make chicks hot. Which I wish was the case.

i would have put MGS4 in there... and some people will probably disagree with this but i would put heavenly sword in it aswell it has an epic story and very good graphics it was just the gameplay and game length that let it down

I dont think that "Of All Time" should be in the title, because I'm sure about 10-15 years ago people made a list such as this for the best looking games of the time.
