IGN: Nintendo Wii Games of the Month: September

Dark Arcanine | September 30, 2008 | Top List | Wii
Similar to IGN: Nintendo DS Games of the Month: September, IGN has also made an article for the Nintendo Wii.

The ultimate winner in both the staff's eyes and the members eyes was de Blob, demonstrating the popularity it's receiving. The runner up was Wario Land: Shake It!

These your choices?

Other games include:

  1. Mega Man 9
  2. Star Wars: The Force Unleashed
Really, we're starting to grow tired of writing about de Blob -- this is now our one-gajillionth blurb about the title since we first learned about it. But that's not going to stop us from giving one more nod to developer Blue Tongue and publisher THQ for creating a quality Wii platformer with uncommon cleverness and polish. You control Blob, an obese paintball, around monochromatic environments, literally splattering the world with color. Simple concept, but there's hidden depth to be found in satisfying platform-filled stages and tight control, not to mention some of the cleanest, most stylized visuals to grace Nintendo's console. On top of everything else, de Blob boasts a funky jazz soundtrack that changes dynamically as you play. If you're looking for a different breed of platformer, we can't recommend this option more. Buy it, please. Seriously. Do your part so that we can get a sequel -- Blob deserves to headline his own franchise.

I have expected the TFU to be better on the Wii then the PS3 and 360 with its online and Dual Mode.

The winners just seemed so obvious from the amount of coverage they've been getting.

I would've liked to have seen Star Wars: The Force Unleashed win number one by the members though.
