Well, at least it isn't another "Top Ten" list. How shocking! Mirror's Edge, Farcry 2, Killzone 2, and Resistance 2 have all made the list before any have been released!

Crysis
Why It's Great: Crysis is literally one surprise after another. You're dropped on North Korean territory in a government issued nano-suit, and charged with taking down the radical KCP faction. So far, so good. But halfway through your pursuit, a race of advanced extraterrestrials enters the fray. Throw in some surprisingly open-world gameplay, astonishingly detailed visuals, and the option to switch between your nano-suits abilities on the fly, and you have one of the most complete PC shooters ever created. While the steep, steep system requirements definitely took their toll on the game's sales, Crysis is one of the few games that was actually worth the investment in new PC hardware.

      Yeah in most of the trailers when she obtains guns she just chucks em. You get rewarded if you don't use weapons or something like that.

      Crysis was awesome.

      Besides, most lists follow the same rules. One per franchise.

      Unless it's wildly different. Like Doom to Doom 3 for example.

        Crysis was a piece of garbage. The story sucked major ass, and honestly the only good thing about the game was graphics. Sorry I don't see how a game like Half Life that probably revolutionized FPS genre is beaten by a piss poor, horrid sales title called Crysis.

    True, Half Life 1 should have replaced something like Fear or Rainbow Six, but Crysis is still pretty good. Glad to see something that's not Halo at number one though.

    Great list. Pretty much perfect in my opinion. Except Perfect Dark and Goldeneye should swap places. Perfect Dark was Way better. Essentially a sequel set in a different world.

    BTW, you people aren't noticing. It's one game per franchise, with the exception of System Shock 2/Bioshock which are set in different worlds and only a sequel "in spirit".

    Otherwise,good list. Although Half-Life 2 should have been replaced with either PORTAL,or the entire ORANGE BOX

      The Darkness was a great game, but it wasn't one of the best FPSs.

      Actually, you're right. I'd put The Darkness ahead of games like The Chronicles of Riddick,.

    Glad to see Goldeneye and Perfect Dark made the list. Two spectacular games, and memorable multiplayer moments.

    I pretty much agree with the whole list. Top xxx lists usually aren't appealing to me.

    Pretty good list.

    Glad to see Goldeneye made it so far though I'd rank it second imo. And Call of Duty is such an awesome game. I spent way to many hours playing it online!
