Iran White of wiirincontrol.com has made up a top five list of games which may never be sold within the borders of America.

It features some very hot titles currently in awaiting such as Monster Hunter 3 and Disaster: Day of Crisis.

Some of these games are even looking not to be released outside of Japan and the name which pops up the most in the article is Capcom.

Each section explains why the game won't be coming to America. It does, hwowever, give hope to American gamers with possible reasons against keeping the game from their hands.

If they don't come to America, will you miss them?

  1. Disaster: Day of Crisis
  2. Fragile: Farewell Ruins of the Moon
  3. Unspecified Wii Tales game
  4. Tatsunoku vs. Capcom
  5. Monster Hunter 3

    As the source states:

    quote
The other Capcom game that may not ever be released outside of Japan is Monster Hunter 3.
It most likely will though, it's a very popular series after all and fans will demand it.

Tales and Monster Hunter are too popular in North America for companies to ignore the chance to make a profit.

Tales will almost certainly make it out here. Monster Hunter 3 shouldn't have much trouble coming out here either, with Capcom's push to make the series as popular here as it is in Japan.

As for the other 3, I am mainly concerned about Fragile. I'm really looking forward to it, and not making out here would be very disappointing. As for Disaster, it seems like a decent game, but it's not that big of a loss. I'm not holding my breath for Tatsunoku vs Capcom since it probably won't come out here, but it seems pretty import friendly so I might still get it.

I would miss every single one of those games for sure!

Also, guys, the next Tales game has absolutely no guarantee of coming out of Japan. Namco is notorious for surprisingly keeping many of the mothership Tales titles Japan-only: Destiny 2, Rebirth, Innocence, and most likely Hearts all suffer this fate. Unfortunately, the next game may as well.

After the success of Symphonia, they began localizing the console titles much more frequently. Rebirth is an exception, but I suppose the fact that it was released shortly after Symphonia (in North America) played a role. It probably wasn't planned.

They never localize the portable titles (besides Phantasia on the GBA, but that was a port), but the console titles are almost always localized now that the series became one of the most popular JRPG franchises in North America. Considering their previous success with the Nintendo console audience, and their willingness to localize DotNW, it's very likely.

Pfff, America is one of the largest game-playing countires in the world (aside from japan). I don't see how they can be neglected. It's just stupid.

I live in England - teehee!
