We had our very own Mega Man fanboy, Adam Rosenberg, scour all the Mega Man games and pick out some of the most interesting/colorful robot masters from the series.

Now that Mega Man 9 is here in all of its archaic, old school glory, we find ourselves spending those spare moments between loudly uttered curses of frustration pondering on the glories of Mega Man games past. Before the series spun off in various directions to incorporate Maverick Hunters, Battle Networks and the letter X, the basic mold of fighting a series of bosses and then using the powers of the fallen to defeat those that remain hung on for a full eight games before tapering off, only to be revived in the newly released 9. The Robot Masters of old remain some of our favorite moments in gaming, a combination of infuriatingly high difficulty and the puzzle-like twist of working out each one's weakness. Rather than continue to steep ourselves in those long-absent good time memories, we've chosen instead to channel them into a list of UGO's 11 favorite Robot Masters.
