The Greatest Heroes of All Time in Gaming!

Roger Wilco (older gamers may remember him from Sierra's classic Space Quest Franchise, Indiana Jones, Mario, Master Chief, Wolverine and other infamous characters that showed up in gaming round up our massive list of the greatest Heroes of all time.

Heroes rock. Whether they're fighting nazis, blowing up tanks with their bare hands or saving puppies from burning circus tents, we've always been in awe of these lads and ladies. So here they are...our picks for the 100 greatest heroes of entertainment (games-comics-film). Let the flame wars begin!

        Yeah, but the people behind Optimus didn't. Hasbro didn't realize his death in the 80s film/cartoon would be so traumatic to some kids - to this day those that were in the loop then acknowledge they didn't realize how iconic Optimus had become, if they did - he (probably) wouldn't have croaked in the film to make way for the new toy line.

    Damn its one game a page! Thats annoying.

    How about Aerith/Aeris. She ultimately called upon Holy to save the planet for the Meteors destruction. And died doing so. Shes a hero in my book.

    And no, im not one of those "FF7 best game ever made" fanboys; but I do think she did a noble thing.

      Killosity, Aerith/Aeris' death is one of gaming's greatest moments. I agree she should have been on the list.

    Cool, Samus is number 20, and Solid Snake is number 17. Even Ellen Ripley is in the list. They chose some pretty good heroes.
