In this list Old-Wizard.com describes the top 10 easiest video games of all time, focusing especially on what they call "new games" from the playstation era and beyond.

What makes a game easy? How about an unlimited amount of lives? How about an unlimited amount of continues after you lost all your lives? How about a seemingly never ending amount of energy? There is something noticeable about all these traits that make a video game easy. All these traits are embodied in most new video games that are released. Gone are the days of working hard to beat a game. Sure, you could beat Contra in ½ an hour, but achieving the skill level of mastering the game took months, if not years. Today’s games are long, and require no mastery to accomplish. With what seems like an unlimited amount of life for the protagonists of new games, comes a gaming disposition that is ubiquitously lazy and lacking in patience. Fight your way to the end of the game without focusing on anything specifically.

Battlefield: Bad Company is the easiest game in my opinion. The only excuse for dying in that game is laziness. You basically get infinite health as long as you remember to inject yourself with whatever that shit is every 10 seconds. Even if you do die, all that happens is you will be teleported back to a certain spot. All the enemies you killed will still be gone, your weapons will still be there, etc.

I disagree, in fact the Auto Injector(name of the thing) only appears on one Kit and thats the Assault Kit. Besides Support(with the Medic Kit), you don't have Infinite Health. I play as Demolition and Assault alot and most of the time I die the same. Its not because of laziness its cause how you personally play. I like being upfront within the field kicking ass and etc. But because of that I get more of the hits from bullets and etc which leads me to die.

As side from that, its not easy. Keep in mind Im actually talking about the multiplayer here and not so much the single player mode. Even then I'll hardly say its easy.

I was talking about the campaign... You can't really compare what game is easiest when talking about multiplayer, since it depends on who you're playing against obviously.

is the guy he's talking about in KH2 that hades summons from the dead Auron? If it is, this guy is a complete *bleep*.

KH2 was quite hard if you played it on the harder difficulty setting i myself found some bosses hard even on the normal setting.

    Specially Sephiroth!

Seph was so fun once you knew what to do, especially on Proud Mode at max level.

I disagree with a few of them to be honest. Anybody remember the game called Parrapa the Rapper? It was something along those lines anyway. It literally took me about 45 minutes to complete.

Funny, I found Parappa to be very hard. I could only get past the first level or so.

From somebody who is not a 24/7 gamer these days, I would like to try out Super Mario Galaxy after reading the difficulty level of it.

I'm a huge fan of all other Mario World games, and this one sounds like it fits right up to my level haha.

It's not incorrect, it's an opinion. There is no right or worng answers here. Everyone thinks that whatever IGN or GameSpot says is right, and everyone else is worng. That's why old-wizard.com is hated so much.

Kingdom heart 2 was hard. Its up there with the hardest game

Decent list, although I'm surprised BioShock wasn't on there, you couldn't really "die" at all, the game was only hard when I beat it with the Vita-Chambers turned off.

KH2 is completely true, I remember dying only a handful of times even on proud mode.

I disagree with the Mario being there. Although the bosses were genereally easy most of hte 60 + stars were HARD to collect.

And I TOTALLY agree about KH2. I played on the hardest setting and didn't even die once, despite it being on my fist playthrough. It bored me to no end.

Rugrats: Search for Reptar really should be on there, it can be completed in half an hour. Seriously.

This was another game that was ideally strong, but too easy to be considered memorable
Disagreed. Spyro is considered a classic, and rightly so.

Super Mario Bros can be completed in 5 minutes, and it's not considered easy, which is where the whole confusion about what makes a game easy starts.

    Morrowind? Easy? What?

Oh awesome, GG no longer deletes what you've typed if your under the character limit.

Ocarina of time was *bleep*ing simple, apart from the Water Temple it was a breeze! D:

mario galaxy. Miyamoto babysits you through the whole thing.

    HisServant77 Nov 3, 08
HA! This all depends on when you played the games. If you were a kid (as I was for some of those games), certain of those games could be pretty hard.

And Spyro?! Not memorable? WOW is that ever wrong. Spyro is an absolutely awesome game to remember. When Spyro was under Insomniac, it was awesome! And The final boss for Spyro . . . took me quite a while to beat.

But again, it all depends on the age of the person playing it, and if they were hardcore gamers, or just gaming for fun. It sounds like this is all judged by a 25 year old hardcore gamer's point of view.

Has clearly never played Kingdom Hearts II. And the first hour on easy doesn't count. I played it on Proud and even for being a big follower of the series and pretty good with the controls, there were a few absolutely infuriating boss fights. Limitless life and no saving my ass. Ever seen the water dance? Jesus.

While I agree with your post, and me playing KH2 literally 10+ times and after the first playthrough on Normal I really have to agree with the guy as well. Proud mode has no challenge and hardly worthy of being called Difficult. I beaten the game on that mode so much and didn't die unless I personally did something stupid(which wasn't alot) it was crazy. Hell even Sephiroth, even though that match was fun and I love fighting him, was relatively easy even on that mode.

But that didn't stop me from enjoying the game to no end. I love KH and Always will.

@phowell23 yes he's talking about Auron but even still he's right though. He was easy just like Hades. However I found the Hades Cup to be quite refreshing challenge. Which I did beat to the end tbh. But that was probably the only thing challenging within Proud mode I got.

@Mudkiplover94 thats laughable within itself. "Its up there with the hardest game" Seriously the most stupidest thing I ever heard.

im not arguing the fact that he was easy or not but the fact that how can someone who works on a gaming site doing a top ten not know the chacteres in the game. If he is clueless that Kingdom hearts is disney + final fantasy and the Auron is not just some random charecter but from ffX he is a dumbass

          Final Blade Nov 3, 08
Well for one, someone who doesn't play the game enough to remember every character. I know I've played the game alot, and there's a few Organization members I can't remember off the top of my head atm. The same probably happened to him. While I do think he could have looked it up, he might've been pressed for time when doing it. But I think as long as we know who he's talking about then it doesn't matter.
I think calling him a dumbass is a little much though.

Ocarina of Time was damn hard. Not because it's bosses or enemies were particularly difficult, but because it was sometimes near impossible to figure out where to go next. There weer quite a few instances where I found myself backtracking in order to find a clue or hint that I was supposed to be somewhere.

I definitely agree with Super Mario Galaxy. The majority of the game was basically: "Start here, follow path to end of level". Then you would come across a boss that had a painfully easy "strategy" laid out for you in order for you to defeat it (which usually revolved around deflecting the enemies attacks back at them). That game was probably my biggest gaming disappointment of last year.
I spent hours upon hours with the previous 3D Mario games exploring the worlds, collecting all stars, revisiting areas. But once I beat Galaxy, I had no incentive to pick it up again. It was too easy to the point of being dull.

Have you ever tried Ocarina of Time: Master Quest? It's only released on the GC, and its a revised version of OoT, making it much much harder to figure out. And with the same graphics. If you thought the first version was hard, then you haven't tried this one.

Same here, I played SMG, and was basically done the second I beat bowser the first time, with mario, and had no intentions of ever getting all stars, or getting it with luigi.

Well if you have no intentions of finishing the game, then you really can't complain.
