Games We Love but Wish We Could Love Playing
20 hours 41 mins ago
A recent popular discussion on gaming websites has been whether the survival-horror genre still exists in this generation of gaming. Whether you believe it does or doesn't, there's no denying the handful of recent games that have managed to get a few scares out of gamers. Here are IGN's Top 13 Scariest Games of This Generation ...
Different things scare different people. For some, true fear may come from beyond the grave, taking the form of shambling zombies and vengeful ghosts. For others, fear may be born from our own vanity, twisting us inside and out into mutated, murderous monsters. Still others may find fear's ultimate expression in the unknown sounds and sensations that lie just beyond our perception. And of course, for some reason, many of us are most afraid of the soul-crushing loneliness of a live lived without love. Well, that and little girls.
But whatever it is that makes you truly afraid, odds are there's a game that capitalizes on that fear and invites you to confront it head on. Today we've perused the scariest titles available for the current crop of consoles and those that have come out on the PC in the last few years to come up with a "must have" list for gamers seeking the ultimate in scary experiences.
So, without further ado... the list. The criteria for games selected was that they must have been released for the PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, or Wii between October 2005 and today.

Funny they should include the first Gears. While playing Gears 2 last night, I was thinking about how strangely scary it was. For those of you who have played: Niles is one screwed up mofo. I was thanking my lucky stars for a working chainsaw that whole stage...
And no it wasn't a terrible game, Siren: Blood Curse actually got very good reviews in general.

Secondly, as you can notice, among Horror fans, it's majorly agreed that it's a DAMN good game. Reason it's knocked off is because Siren is about as known and as "easy" as Martian Gothic: Unification was for the PC and PS1 (If you have no idea what I'm talking about, then I proved my point).
Thirdly, the list has Gears of War in it, that alone kills any kind of credibility it tried to have anyways.
Thats very true.
I very much doubt that, personally for me anyway.
