Call of Duty Black Ops Voted ‘Best Game Ending’ Of All Time

In this list, the popular video game blog Old-Wizard.com describes what they think are the ten most prominent video game cliches of all time. Included are "saving a princess", a "Chosen One" and many more.
2. Food that completely fills your energy
Picture this; youre about to die and are gasping for your final breath. Youre rushed to the emergency room, and what does the doctor give you? A roasted chicken. You eat the chicken and walk out as if nothing happened. Could you imagine what would happen in the real world if all your physical and mental ailments could be solved by a piece of chicken? What would happen to modern medicine? All modern doctors would have to become nutritionists, or at least know how to use an oven. From Gauntlet to Castlevania, the most inane pieces of food are able to make you feel better. Theres gushing blood coming out of your arm from being attacked by a warrior or a skeleton, and somehow a piece of chicken heals it. Are we just supposed to assume they used the roasted chicken as a bandage?

We seriously need a better starting point than the main character's bed. That's getting old.
AWESOME ARTICLE. TRULY A GOOD READ!
It seems this guy likes Nintendo a lot and uses most of those examples though. But . . . I guess I don't play many of those games to where I saw those examples listed, as overused. Though I like the ideas for new things to do, actually. I want some innovative stories!!
I buy just about all my games, because of the plots and stories behind it. So I grow tired of rehashed and predictable stories. Let's aim for something completely new and unexpected!
Invisible walls are annoying clichés for me; wouldn't you think people would have a smarter way of restricting you? Apparently not.
Yeah the invisible walls are definitely annoying. I love the devs though that think of other ways, such as a literal wall, a damage zone, or the best I've personally seen -- Halo 3 online where turrets or something shoot or kill you somehow when you go off the map. THAT, is how it should be done I think.
Number 5 can be used for FF7 since Cloud really only had his mom, his dad either dead or something(forgot
LOL @ 2. God forgot about those healing Chickens.
1 is the most obvious. Why can't their be the girl trying to save the man? Its not fair.
Like when playing a game that has health, when I see any food in the game, I automatically just know that it will increase my health. Like there is absolutely no question in mind that eating the food will raise my health -- it is just so common in games, it is most definitely a cliche exclusive to gaming.
And I am never surprised that drinking a bottle of water or eating an apple heals my gun shot wounds. I don't even question it at all.
Still doesn't make it not-good though XD
Yeah, the food = heal bloody wounds is silly....
