    See, that was a really good list except for the sports ones that made it in there, how the hell is basketball and rugby a starting weapon? ; ;
Why not Dead Spaces Pulse thingy that rips stuff up? My god its an awesome starting weapon

Anything that can cause damage in some shape or form is a weapon. I mean you can call your slick tongue a weapon because you can rapid fire off insults and hurt people emotionally. Or in the sporting sense of rugby being able to pulverize someone.

It's destructive and you can run people over, pretty self explanatory really.

Geh, some liberties were taken with the word 'weapon'. Technically most aything can considered be a weapon, but stll >_>

I am reminded of the Shinobi game' sword. You could either just attack as normal (with gravity defying attacks), or charge and slice through multiple enemies at once....

Never actually got that game myself XD Just played the demo, loads of fun

WHERE is God of War 2? In the starting level, you had fully levelled up blades of chaos, along with a lvl3 Posiedons Rage.
    • 0
      Final Blade Nov 22, 08
Technically after God of War 1 his Blade of Chaos got taken away, and was replaced by Blades of Athena from herself, so he can become the new god of war. So at the start of the second game he had Maxed out BoA and Poseidon's rage. Albeit similar weapon just different color(golden).
I suppose they left out GoW2 cause the starting weapon was similar in a way, despite the maxed powers.

Anyway the list was alright. But Burnout, Rugby(NFL for Americans) and Basketball should not at all be placed on the list. It makes the list laughable that likeable.

I also like Exevier curious why Devil May Cry wasn't added on the list? I could have sworn the force edge the best weapon in the series? I mean turning into the Sparda weapon was pretty badass imo.

Rugby and American football are two different things, and we play both.

Actually, not really. If I said Football, I know for one thing I'm referring to NFL, since I'm American, but people refer Football(or Futbol/soccer) outside of the U.S, and others refer to NFL as rugby. And since there isn't any other games of that nature besides Madden 09(which may differ to names) I just covered my ass with it so no one would misinterpret it.

Some might call American Football Rugby outside the US. However they would be wrong in doing so. The rules of Rugby and American Football are quite different. Even the balls used to play the games are different.

          You mean him?

As I said, since people outside of the U.S call Football what we call soccer, I'd see how NFL could be more like rugby then calling it football. From a realist stand point though. I was just covering my ass as I said so people outside the U.S will get my point.

I ammore than well aware of what soccer is called outside the US. But American Football is not Rugby. And calling such is flat out wrong. They are completely dissimilar games. They have different equipement different balls and different rules of play. The only similarity they have at all is that you can tackle the ball carrier.

Rugby and American Football are about as similar as tennis and rachet ball.

No, the best weapon in the series was the Alastor. The Force Edge was extremely weak in DMC1 until changing into the Sparda - a completely different weapon. And even that had its limitations - no DT until the final fight. Its only powerful in DMC3 because its heralded as a powerful weapon. They just beefed it up for the game since it wasn't a starting weapon.

          Final Blade Nov 24, 08
I disagree, while Alastor was fast lightning sword and pretty cool, it wasn't the best. Sparda sword wasn't even available in DMC3. I really didn't see Force Edge being that powerful in DMC3, the only thing it did was make combos look flashier then anything. I think Nevan was the second strongest in DMC3 along with Agni and Rudra and Beowulf was the strongest due to brute strength.

@Koloth - that wasn't my point. And continuing it at this stage is pointless. Unless you can find me a name that non Americans call NFL, I see, regardless of what you stated and the actual definitions, Rugby despite the different rules and balls are similar. That's all i'm saying, and was covering my ass with my post to not get people talking about Soccer or whatever.

The point is, sports do not at all hold a place on this list as weapons, which was my main reason for the post.

Sooo... what you're saying is, even though you acknowledge that Am. football and rugby have completely different rules, regulations, and definitions, and even though half of America probably doesn't know what rugby is, you're going to consider Am. football rugby due to the fact that you don't really give a shit.

Oooh, Final Blade. How you will succeed in life, I shall ponder.

Seeing some of the games that are on there and the lack of any Devil May Cry games makes me question this list.

I don't know, I don't like this list. Pretty bad except for the number 1! But, just my thoughts!

I'm not sure which starting weapon they were talking about for Star Wars: TFU. I mean, is it the lightsaber, or Darth Vader himself?

Heh, I don't see how almost any sports/racing games made the list though.

The car is pretty evil, running people over. It was one of my main weapons when playing GTA. xD

I thought Darth Vader was a tool not a weapon.

Personally thought the Gunblade from FF8 surpassed the Buster Sword from FF7, but I guess the emotional ties to the sword and those who held it allows it a place on this list.

I actually felt that could have been added if they took out the obvious sport/racing games that shouldn't have been on the list in the first place. The gunblade was my second favorite weapon of all time for FF games. And the Gun trigger(limit Break thing) I perfected it every time. I kicked ass with it. Ah memories.

Thank heavens for people like us who appreciate FF8 and do not abuse it for what it was; the sequel to FF7, the most popular Final Fantasy title ever. The mature approach and characters just rocked!

And that gun-trigger, damn that was awesome! Always loved the Rezokuken and Squalls Lionheart finisher. Actually I am certain now, that list needs to remove the sports "weapons" and put in some other unique and interesting weapons which added to the feel and immersion within gameplay.

Lol @ SWTFU being first place. This list is idiotic.

" Ghouls n' Goblins is one of the toughest games ever "

Since when is bad coding challenging? Even the ending is bad, and you have to complete the game not once, but twice (if not more) to unveil the true ending. Which isn't anything special.

Since when is bad coding and the fact that you have to completely redo the game a good reason to diss this game, indeed. Plus, I agree. All of the other potential games on this list are horrible. Here, here, brother! Let us spray our fanboyish bullshit without mercy.
