Many complain about the lack of hard core titles on the wii, but fail to realize that the virtual console is a treasure trove of easily overlooked hidden gems. Chris Plante picked out 11 of the more unique offerings on the VC that are truly sleeper classics.

Is your game calendar empty between now and Street Fighter IV? The holiday game deluge didn't curb your insatiable appetite? Are you low on cash, but need a gaming fix? Do retro titles tug at your tiny gamer heart-strings? Well, that dusty Wii under your SDTV does more than waggle; it also houses the Virtual Console and a cornucopia of cheap retro classics. Ok, maybe not a cornucopia, but the Virtual Console offers a few rare gems that are worth their weight in space gold.

The following eleven titles deserve a place in every living room. Now, Nintendo, if we download them, you'll have enough money to rerelease Earthbound, right?

Automatic +1 for Milon's Dokidoki Adventure nod.

Woot! I was happy to see Chris Plante included it too.

Decent list. I'm just pumped that someone else has played Blazing Lazers. I was really beginning to think that I was the only person who owned it (and not on the Wii, I'm talking the original Turbo card). What a blast to play, and the music is top-notch.
