This list goes through what the author thinks are the ten best video game franchises of all time. The choices vary from Warcraft to Mario, with short, but well thought out reasons for each choice.
#3. Warcraft
If this were a numbers game currently the warcraft franchise would be quite possible be number one. But this isnt a numbers game. Well it is a game, and yes the game does contain numbers, like how much gold and lumber you have. And yes, they are important numbers because you need alot of them to build your army, and you also have to manage said money carefully or you wont be able to upgrade your units in a timely manner, while of course re-supplying your defenses so your base isnt destroyed. Of course then there is WoW were gold is even more important. You gotta save up for your abilities, mount, epic mount, flying mount, epic flying mount, that sweet piece of epic gear in the AH, and all the other fun stuff that Blizzard stuck into that hypodermic needle of a game. Which reminds me the Warcraft franchise is made by blizzard and is incredibly addictive.

No it wasn't. Metal Gear on the NES was rubbish, it was the MSX where it really shone.
Hence why only ONE of those franchises was never with Nintendo.
Seriously, i could list SO MANY more series that just top some of that list.
What a shitty website. This guy has an awful taste is videogames. How hard is it to pretend like you're not a fanboy tool and toss in games like Half Life and Grand Theft Auto, even though you refused to play them because they weren't on your SNES? I mean, to pick a screenshot of a *bleep*ing NES Metal Gear game instead of Metal Gear Solid to symbolize the franchise? Dur.
Plus he said Earthworm Jim was overrated so I hope he burns.
I'm kinda tired of people saying "it's just an opinion" to push away all criticism, as if there isn't such a thing as an awful, awful opinion.
On the flip side, O-W get anywhere from 3,000 to 45,000 readers a day. So there must be other people who agree with us.

People shouldn't have dumb, boring, predictable opinions like yours and then make a website. That's all I'm saying.
We need more sites like Old-Wizard, becuase they show the gaming comunity that everyone has their own right to an opinion.
