Everyone knows the saying "Don't judge a book by it's cover." Well the same applies to games you would think. But we all know that sometimes you see a game cover that just screams, "Buy Me!" Here's a list of 40 game covers that really got the attention for being imaginative and eye catching.

It is a matter of taste, mostly.
8. Ultima VII: The Black Gate, makes no since it's just black cover with nothing but a logo.
And why does Half Life 2 get two spots on the list when other game series like Halo and Tomb Raider have to share one spot?
It just seems like she was rating the games instead of just the box art.
Also, Burnout Paradise should have been on there.
also, i love the orange box, but the boxart was shitty as hell. its like all the actual professional graphic designers were busy with other things, so they had the receptionist throw something together. it looks more like a full-page ad from a magazine than a video game box cover.
2nd, no megaman 9/1 (wichever - one is hilariously bad the other is an epic throwback worthy of infinite props) or katamari damaci - which is simply amazing. its a cow standing in a field.
