There are some gaming villains that never stay dead. No matter how many times you shoot them, bludgeon them, blow them up, bury them, or throw them into a pit of lava, they just keep coming back. Here are Gamesradar's Top 7 Game Villains That Never Stay Dead...

Death happens a lot in videogames, but for some reason it never seems to stick. From heroes who get infinite do-overs to supporting characters who “die” only to resurface at the nick of time down the road, videogames might be the only medium that leaves the audience feeling surprised, maybe even cheated, if a dead character isn’t magically brought back to life.

And nobody, but nobody gets magically brought back to life more often than villains. The really interesting ones can usually expect to stick around no matter how horribly they “die;” if their creators aren’t ready to let them go, those villains will find a way back to the world of the living. Some are more tenacious than others, often to the point where their ability to defy death has become a defining characteristic. What follows are the most enduring examples.

Sure are quite a few Nintendo characters on this list, heh. Good reasons though, same hero and villain in pretty much every game series there.

Yeh man, that's it, people love their villains as much as their heroes.

Wesker's only had 2 known deaths, hasn't he? Should he really be on a list about villains that don't die despite numerous obvious death sequences?

Otherwise a well put together list. It was interesting to read up on them. To be honest the only reason these enemies keep coming back is because it's easier to reuse an old baddie than it is to create a new one with enough impact to matter (just look at Legend of Zelda - no baddie has ever matched Ganon yet).

Considering all you have to do to take Wesker out, I'd say he's a pretty damn persistent son of a bitch.

Wow Bowser wasn't on that list xD
Good reasons for not putting him there.

But still, like the author said, they have so much fun together go-karting and playing tennis and golf that capturing Peach seems like the kind of thing they do to brighten up grey afternoons.

I mean, he's even a good guy in most of the Mario RPGs.

Wut. Why wasn't Seymour from FFX in there? I guess they're talking about series here, but Seymour would just not stay dead.

Go Kane! He's such an awesome villain. I never get sick of him reappearing and kicking off war, manipulating people, doing crazy Tiberium experiments and everything else.
