Russ Frushtick and Chris Plante conducted a little survey to discover what would really get a gamer's (the popular majority, not niche fans like me wanting Phantom Dust 2) heart pumping at E3 2009. After much debate, the end result were these 15 items that many gamers would go nuts over if announced at E3 2009... but alas, the gaming gods have cruelly placed old media moguls that occasionally "dont get it" in seats of power at our beloved game companies so of course this is all wishful thinking.

Back in 1969, I shared a dinner with John Lennon, Mick Jagger and Yoko Ono. The night was casual; we sat on the floor and ate chicken and rice (Ono's favorite) with our fingers. Around the time dessert arrived - rice pudding, rice was the dinner's theme - Jagger asked Lennon if he could cover the relatively recent single, "Hey Jude." Lennon adamantly refused and after Jagger continued to needle him for permission, Lennon shouted "Mick, you can't always get what you want" unintentionally inspiring Mick Jagger to write one of the greatest Rolling Stones songs.

That story is false. And so are the following fifteen announcements that I absolutely guarantee you won't see at E3 2009. No matter how much you want them.

        I wish they would.
It seems we won't see any classic remakes at E3.

The one thing you and many Square fans want, if only to upset the FF-fans that hate 7, but were blessed enough with remakes (albeit on the portables).

Wow, good thing I'm not the only one who would be most excited about Yoshis out of everything on that list.

How about Eidos Montreal unveiling their next game...Legacy of Kain [6]/[Dark Prophecy] (if you've been keeping up with the news of old)!! Doubt it, but you gotta admit, with Square taking over Eidos, they're bound to do something with the company's franchises (Hitman, Tomb Raider, Kain, Deus, etc.)

But what I'm really hoping for from E3 is the unveiling of the new Twisted Metal.

A Soul Reaver RPG would be awesome.

I either want them to finish the story (which Eidos was gonna finish in Dark Prophecy before it was cancelled) or remake the original Blood Omen or Soul Reaver. Actually, I'll take any LOK game right now. I really miss anticipating a new Kain game...

But an RPG would be pretty cool too as long as they did it as a prequel. That's the only part of the story I'd say it could be done.

Finishing the story would be nice

It's a shame the sequel to LoK: Defiance got cancelled.

Grey Box idea is nice. But for some reason, I see them adding Left 4 Dead instead of a HL remake.

FF7 doesn't need to happen. The game has been milked enough.

PSP to PS3 thing would be difficult due to having less buttons than the PS3 controller.

I keep hearing about the Dreamcast 2 thing. There's no concrete evidence around it, is it? Or is it just a joke everyone knows?

We'll get a unified gamertag when companies stop being greedy.

No, you'll never get a unified gamertag.

Greedy? So should there be 1 super carrier that everyone with a cell phone has to subscribe to?

Well these days you can switch carriers and keep the same #.....so I guess anything is possible.

Well yea you can keep your number, but your old carrier won't be getting your money anymore.

Am I the only one who no longer cares whether FFVII is remade or not? When we first saw the PS3 tech demo ALMOST FIVE YEARS AGO the possibility of an FFVII remake was new and exciting and oh-so-*bleep*ing-incredible. But the hype died down long ago and now that the games have been milked to death with subpar prequels and sequels, I can't bring myself to care as much anymore. Sure, I'll buy an FFVII remake if it's ever made, and I'll probably love it. But the mad excitement over seeing the game in PS3 graphics wore off a long time ago

Nope. I'm in the same boat, and would wait for it to hit the bargain bins before I even remotely considered picking it up.
