MSNBC has put together a rather interesting list of the best five games to play with your kids. Some of them are obvious, but I never expected the last game on the list to be included.

Video games can be so much more than a “babysitter” for your kids while you do the dishes. They’re a great opportunity for you to interact with your kids, to start conversations and strengthen bonds.

The trick is finding games that appeal to both kids and adults. And don’t forget to check the ESRB rating on any game you let your little ones play. All five games we list here are rated either E for everybody, or E10+, which means the game has been deemed appropriate for kids aged 10 and up.

It doesn't surprise me that Wii Sports was included in two of those games. They're great games for all ages to play.

Cars!? I don't think that deserves a spot in there. It's like a normal racing game. The kind of game that franchises make of movies. Mario Kart deserves the spot, loads of fun without violence.

Nice. I have played a lot of those games with my parents and siblings before. Of course Lego Star Wars II has to be in there, and Wii Sports. ~_^

I thought the Wii sports was a good idea, but I'm wondering whether the "Cars" thingy should have been in there. =\

Wii Sports seems like the best one to 'play with your kids' up there.

I knew Wii Sports would make it on the list. It's nice to see Mario Party 8 in there too. It's a great game.

Why not the normal DDR? Why does it gotta be the Mario version?

Playing video games with your kids seems really... lame.

      Did you read the article?

"We picked "Mario Mix" because it’s E-rated – so there’s never a worry about hearing any objectionable lyrics."

I'm not surprised to see Wii sports on the list. To be honest it should be the number one game to play with your kids. I am however surprised Cars got on the list. I agree with luigi jean I think Mario Kart would be a better game then Cars.

MP8 is a game to play with more than one person. So I can see how it's on there. Wii Sports isn't a shocker either.

And I say replace Cars with Mario Kart and that list is better.

I agree, Mario Kart is a much better game than Cars, more fun. It depends on how old the kids are, really I've seen families play Halo together. In fact, there's an article about it somewhere.

Of course Mario Party is there, but the only reason I can think why they chose cars is because the kids would automatically like it, even if it sucks...

Am I the only one that thinks they should've added Resident Evil on there. You know, just for kicks?

Mario party 8 and Wii sports are the only games that aren't too complicated for my parents to play(they're old), so they definitely deserve the spots.

Of course Mario Party 8 would make it, any recent Mario game would have. I have experienced Wii sports. It is something you can have alot of fun with, if you have at least two people.
