Silent protagonists, or for those who haven’t been properly acquainted with the English language; quiet heroes, aren’t exactly a common product of modern video games. However some have become famous for the lack of verbal engagement, whereas some would argue that it doesn’t create an extra axis of mystery to the character, but only renders them as bland and unimportant.     by modern, i think it was aimed at PS3, 360 era, which Skarin and Gordon Freeman fall under

      Gordon Freeman has been here since the late 90's. This Skarin dude could've been easily replaced by Claude, but nooooooo.

      Gordon freeman is from Half-l.ife which was released in 1998

        Last I recalled practically everyone on the list makes SOME noise, like when getting hurt, so if you want to be really technical about it, none of them are really silent.
