Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop showed us that Capcom hadn't quite mastered porting HD console games to the Wii. But with that mistake under their belt, perhaps their next PS3/360 port will be more successful? And if that port ends up being Resident Evil 5, then there are ways to downgrade the game without making it an inferior gaming experience.
Destructoid.com have come up with 5 things Capcom can do to help fit Resident Evil 5 onto the Wii.

Go to the source for the full article.

Now Capcom is talking about making more PS3/360 ports, and Resident Evil 5 is the odds on favorite as their next pick. There is a little more potential for commercial success this time around, as many "hardcore" gamers have bitched noted, RE5 is missing a lot of the things that make the RE games special. If the right changes are made, Resident Evil 5 Wii Edition could actually be more appealing to hardcore fans of the series than the original. It goes without saying that for that to happen, the game's graphics and controls would have to be as good or better than those found in the +1 million selling Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition, and a sizable amount of bonus content would need to thrown in as well. More than all that, for RE5: Wii to be a hit, it would actually have to be a better Resident Evil game than RE5:360/PS3 already is.

Hit the jump for a few ideas as to how that could happen. Warning: plenty of RE5 spoilers await, so don't click that button if you aren't ready to hear all about RE5 from start to finish.

Or just come up with a more original game with the ability to shoot while moving.

Cut out about 4 of the levels, then compress it more and lower the graphics and it MAY be able to run on the Wii.

The sad thing is, Capcom could cut out most of the levels and it wouldn't have a negative impact on the plot at all.

I think we could do without

        1-2, 2-2, 2-3, everything from chapters 3 and 4, 5-2 and 6-1, and have 6-3 just wesker only fights.

Basically 3 levels are all it takes to still keep the crap story RE5 made, which is just sad. (the first level, when we fight Jill, and fight wesker)

That list is awesome (missing moving whilst shooting). Capcom isn't that smart or cool to give a damn about its fans. There like nintendo they BELIEVE that fans (both new and old) thought RE5 was for them.

I pretty much agree with all the points on the list. Not because it would help RE5 fit on the Wii, but because it would make RE5 a better game in general.

Mostly because it's not even SUPPOSED to be done.

I was actually about to shoot this article down but found myself eating it all up. This godamned thing speaks the truth. It's just sad that it's made for the wrong reasons. Those things shouldn't be taken out JUST because of the Wii, it SHOULD be taken out because they don't BELONG there (bar Sheva...and her Tribal costume).
