WOW is still king of the hill in terms of MMO success, and no matter how hard other titles have been trying over the last couple of years, it is still on top. Resume Play compiles a short list of 10 games that hope to dethrone the Lich King including DC Universe Online, Huxley, and 8 more!

We got our fair share of MMOs to oggle at this year at E3, with a few missing in action, but the bulk of this bellow were there. The list compiles of ten hopeful MMOs that are all expected to launch some time next year, and it isn’t just PC based, there are a few PS3 and Xbox 360 MMOs thrown in there too. Enjoy!

I like the look of FFXIV and The Agency. Sadly, the former will most likely have a monthly fee, but I'm still all for The Agency.

The Old Republic is looking better every time I see it, and it will likely be the first game I ever pay a monthly fee for.

Guild Wars 2 should definitely be on that list. It was WoW's main competition for a while, and I personally enjoyed it more. The free-to-play format and easy to pick up style made it the perfect MMO for me.

Its not technically an MMO though, Guild wars is essentially a free roam RPG with on-line.

Free Realms, and DC Universe and The Agency are expected to use other methods outside of subscription.

free realms is the gayest thing since gay went to gay town.

best MMO atm for cheapskates is definitely runes of magic. free, and actually high quality. neo steam is okay, albeit rather buggy.

DDO could be okay once it goes full P4F (which is in beta atm), if they decide to lift that stupid content limit to free users.
nobody wants to play 1/4th of a game. not even for free.

also i dgaf about any of the games on this list except the DC universe. that looks like it could be fun.

Three words for me: The Old Republic...hands down. I'm putting all my faith in you Bioware!

Oh and then there's City of Heroes Going Rogue...
