There are some games that all gamers need to play at least once in their lifetime.
Here are crispygamer.com's 25 Games You Need to Play Before You Die...

Death.

It's inevitable. One day -- and let's hope it's not today, because we totally did not make our beds or even shower this morning -- we will all have to go "into the light." You can't escape it, unlike Dick Clark or those crafty kids in "Final Destination." (What a movie!)

But before you go into the great beyond, instead of visiting the pyramids or making peace with your alcoholic father, make certain that you've guided these 25 games through to their final credits. [Crispy Gamer Pro Tip: Print out this list, tack it to your fridge, and cross out the games as you work through them.]

If you don't finish these 25 games, don't come crying to us when you're on your deathbed, and all your people are singing "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot," and you have this strange sense of unfinished business. You won't be able to come crying to us anyway. Because you will be on your deathbed. And even if you could come crying to us, all we would say is: "We told you so."

    What? Tony Hawk? No way!

    Digimon World should be on that list.

    I still haven't played a number of those games actually, I reall should get around to it sometime.

    Switch Resident Evil 4 to Resident Evil 1 2 or 3.

    4 doesn't hold shit to the first 3.

    Also add Silent Hill in there, everyone needs a good scare now and then.

      Yeah the addition of RE4 was a bit odd. Sure, the first time Leon gets his head chainsawed off is very "OMG!WHATTHE*bleep*JUSTHAPPENED???". But it's not really one of gaming's must-see moments... or even one of the better games in the series.
      And I dunno, but I consider the finale of Wesker and Chris's ten-year rivalry in RE5 to be more memorable than anything in RE4. Though I guess it's not quite as epic if the player hasn't been into the series since RE1.

    So, another top games list that will inevitably result in people picking out the odd game that agree with, disagreeing with some other entries and then suggesting that Title X should be in the list?

    Vice City > GTA III

    Motorcycles, more music, and a anti-hero that isn't a mute...

    The GB/GBC/GBA/DS type pokemon games should be on the list....Seriously addicting TBH. They may be carbon copies of eachother, but damned if you don't get at least one per Pokemon generation...

    Yeah, I've played a number of these games, though I know I've missed out on some...

      Vice City was awesome. Defending my mansion from the cops on top wanted level was fun.

      Also where is Super Smash Bros 64 on the list? That deserves to be played by everyone, same with the Banjo series

    E.T. for the Atari 2600 is missing. That game definitely needs to be seen to be believed.

    THPS2 was the best of the series, least imo it was. Things grew stale after the fourth game for me.

    Pokemon should make the list...but since millions have played or at least are well aware of it, it didn't make the cut.

      I prefer first but reverts were really *bleep*ing cool..if I could have the first game with reverts I'd be in heaven.

    Nice to see FFVI on the list instead of the usual one. Although, if I were to change a couple of things I'd put in Advance Wars: Days of Ruin instead of the original and THPS3 rather than 2, since that's what I started on.

    A Link to the Past better than OoT? / "Yes, we said VI, not VII. Don't even start with us" / "Something that no other game on this list arguably has: a terrific third act and grand finale"

    It seems to me that whoever wrote this list is just trying to kick up controversy and argument more so than make a legitimate list.

        That's quite obviously what he's saying. The fact that it's completely contradictory of the majority of public opinion is why it supports my point. Try reading the whole post and thinking about it for a second next time.

    Oh and they should have put FFVII in there along with FFVI because the story of FFVII is one you definitely need to experience before you die.

        Lol, now for some reason I'm glad of the fact I never owned any of the old consoles...

          One game that MUST be added to the List: PONG. If you don't play PONG, you forsake the history of video games.

          I agree. Even Wall-E plays Pong.
