Some of the Greatest Weapons in Video Game History

The staff at ResumePlay submitted their favorite weapons in video game history. Some might be for humorous purposes, but the list rounds out our picks and don't forget to let us know what yours are.

The question of the week this week involves the many different weapons introduced with gaming; some are possible but others are completely too bad-ass to be true. Weapons have been very created especially in the first person shooter genre (Including one of the most creative guns I have ever heard; the Landshark Gun).

For my favorite weapon I’m going to have to go with the Landshark gun from Armed and Dangerous. Actually, it’s better to say EVERY weapon from Armed and Dangerous, but we’ll focus on this one. The landshark gun is well…quite unique and brutal. Shaped similar to a rocket launcher, but shaped like a shark, the gun fires…well sharks. Baby sharks. Baby LANDsharks. The only requirement is being on solid ground. While this was my favorite gun, it was far from the most effective. Either way, said sharks burrow through the ground and “swim” until they find an enemy, which quickly becomes shark chow.

      The end game gravity gun, not the starter one.

      And the Phys gun from GMOD is better, or the SHOOP DA WHOOP gun,Spartan Kick gun, and the Microwave gun.

      Also, the plants from PLANTS VS ZOMBIES count as a weapon, they should be in there too.

    Picking the spiked blue shell and helicopter as the biggest asshole weapons was a good move. They both suck hard.

      I totally agree. Honestly, how can you call a helicopter a weapon? All you do is call it in and watch it shoot people. Oh yea, and there's no gravity gun. List Fails Hard.

    I agree with the lack of Gravity Gun on this list, but even the Portal Gun is missing

    Please explain.

    EDIT: Although I do love that they included the Cerebral Bore, that weapon was godly back in the day.

    Off the top of my head, I'd say that my favorite game weapon, other than maybe the Gravity Gun, would be the Torque Bow from Gears of War...

    That thing is awesome. I mean, you shoot someone with it, and they're pretty much *bleep*ed unless they manage to roll out of it, but even then they're in for some pain.

    Although I think the biggoron's sword is a great weapon,I have to say this list fails,mainly due to the lack of a gunblade,buster sword,or double-bladed lightsaber .

    oops i just remembered THE FRIGGIN CELESTIAL BRUSH FROM OKAMI!!!
    for anyone who hasn't played the game the celestial brush has complete control over time and space which ynow kinda seems like an important detail when talking about the best weapon

        I fourth that statement. The Celestial Brush can do ANYTHING. It can create, destroy, manipulate and change. I don't see anything on this list that can accomplish that.

        Then again, the Celestial Brush is technically Ammy's tail, so...

    The Blue Shell is one of those items where it's awesome when you are able to use it, but despise it because it's so *bleep*ing annoying when it blows you up.
