The rumors that Christian Bale will play the role of Solid Snake in a possible Metal Gear Solid movie were recently squashed by Bale himself. So that leaves the door open for any actor to play the role if the movie is indeed ever created.

Metal Gear Solid is a massive success in the gaming industry. The title is synonymous with quality and immersion. No other game offers a cinematic experience quite like it. However if it is to step into to Hollywood territory it needs to deliver on all fronts, especially actors. Solid Snake was a man of epic proportions so an actor of exceptional ability is needed. Not only must he play the part well he must look a lot like the man as well. Given the plethora of actors available compiling this list was difficult, it could have easily been a Top 10.     Has to be Hugh Jackman. Snake looks exactly like him. Jackman can also back it up with the anti-hero attitude (see Wolverine films).

    Got to agree, Hugh jackman or the man himself, David Hayter. Why the hell anyone would even think of approaching Christian Bale is beyond me. Sure he is a good actor but he's too busy racking the coin in his pocket for being the Caped Crusader.

    At first I was a bit skeptical about Hugh Jackman but looking at the side by side photo he might just work. Although, my vote still goes to Hayter.

      I agree, the man who does the voice should do it, especially since he looks like Snake in alot of ways, however if Hugh Jackman was Snake instead, I wouldn't be mad.

      he looks badass, but i doubt he'll sound as badass as snake would

      my vote is with Hayter, let him grow a beard and he'll look like snake

      Hahaha I definitely agree. I've always felt that way about him.

      I think the list did a pretty good job other than Liam Neeson's inclusion (although I do love him). Hugh Jackman would definitely be my pick for Snake.

    Didn't read the article, but what about Kurt Russel? Solid Snake's look after all was based on his character Snake Plissken in the '80s movie, Escape From New York.

    Am I the only one who thinks Jackman can't act for shit? He'd suck as Snake imo, he just can't act.

      I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks so. He's an ok actor, but I can't imagine him doing a good job of Snake. For some reason, I just can't stand the guy :/
