Spoilers? The very texture of the word as it issues from our lips induces shuddering fits and a craving for anti-bacterial soap.
A game's storyline is a sacred thing, like a chain fashioned from resplendent but delicate gold wire, and we'd sooner breakfast on our own toenail clippings than scout out all the big twists in advance.
At the same time, though, we're busy men. We have jobs to keep, daggnabit. Archery lessons to attend. Small animals to molest. Sleeping patterns to maintain. Jam to eat straight from the jar.
Are we to be deprived of a scriptwriter's strokes of brilliance simply because we can't find space in the diary for several hours of dramatic build-up?
