You might think that gaming sessions with your gamer girlfriend might be great exercise for your relationship, but this article actually proves how wrong you are.

No1: It would be embarrassing if she were better at video games than you. Here you envisioned long co-op jaunts crusading against alien invasions, teaching her to play Portal by romantically holding her hands over the controller, and getting cozy while sniping from a bunker in Call of Duty, but here she is, curb-stomping your face over and over in Gears of War multiplayer. You don't even have to wait to wear that pink sweater she bought you for your birthday to be emasculated

    This is why people have a negative view on girl gamers, sexism overloaded.

    I know many girls that don't fit that description and that's a good thing, as long as you or her don't make gaming your life and exclude the other or include the other too much (in other words a healthy balance) then things should be fine.

    Overall, every relationship is different and so is everyone else and how they deal with situations like this, however sexism such as this article (even if it is meant for a laugh) are ridiculous

    1 player campaign is boring. I had loads of fun playing through gears 2 with my girlfriend.

      I've enjoyed all the co op games I've played through with my girlfriend, and am happy to say that her favorite video game series has gone from Nancy Drew to Gears of War.
      I'll admit it bothers me when she will kill me and brag about it, when I never brag about the kills I get on her. I guess it's more exciting to her I am the better player at all shooters.

    This article REAKS of sexism, i swear this guy really needs to be shot in the goddamn face. My girlfriend does not fit ANY of those points and isn't a damn rocket scientist, she's just a gamer who is also a girl.

    Why the hell can't people realise that a girl gamer is the exact same as a guy gamer but the opposite gender?

    Oh and the whole "Single player campaign" point? This guy must seriously have no friends if he likes single player.

    Most guys may not like their gf or any girl beat them at a video game but I would LOVE it if my gf could kick my arse at games.It would actually turn me on Not exactly the fact that she beat me at a game but the fact that her being better meanss strength and I find strength in a woman sexy.Not muscles though

        I've only ever thumbed up things I find hilarious (NO NEED TO SCREAM, CHILD OF BROOKLYN) or if it's to annoy someone like Hun. I think the fact that the accumulated thumbs of you and Razz alone surpass those of all the males combined is proof enough that the majority do though xD
