No video game deserves to be banned. There is rating system for reason, to set age restrictions, to keep puritans and easily offended individuals from certain games. However, bans on video games are being issued worldwide mostly because of blood, violence and profanity, but small percent of these restrictions make absolutely no sense. Behold the most ridiculous of them.

There are lots of legitimate reasons to ban a video game. Honestly! I reserve the right to protect my freedom of speech as much as any red-blooded American but when someone’s freedom of speech is actually hurtful to another person then a line has been crossed. For example, when The Guy Game was pulled off the shelf in the States, the action was totally justified (one of the women who appeared naked/partially naked in the game’s footage was under age) I just wished that developers had done their homework so they could have produced a piece of digital media I could have actually consumed without a guilty conscience.

"No video game deserves to be banned."

Guess you've never seen the game "Ethnic Cleansing".

I was very upset that Manhunt 2 got an AO rating, thus forcing them to tone it down. Now its so censored I can't even make out what the hell I'm doing. Pretty much the prime reason why I haven't finished it yet. Manhunt 1 was better just because I could actually see myself batting someone's brains all over the wall.

Yeah, I did the same thing. Also I had it on Wii, and the waggle shit was too unresponsive. Made it more of a chore.

Reaver you need to get your brains checked. If you can't play a game because you can't make out the violence, then that's just insane.

Maybe they were right in making some games less gorey after all...

      ...you clearly didn't play it.

It's like watching Saw on basic cable. Sure they're cutting out the violence, but they're also cutting out the reason there's any tension to begin with.

Dude, its fun. And if you think that just because I enjoy doing it in a game makes me sick, then you obviously have no prespective on what video games are for.

I also enjoy cutting peoples heads off with meat cleavers, chiseling their heads off with piano wires, and even gouging their eyes out with wooden/glass shards. You got a problem with that?

Good list, but calling Australian uptight prudes is going a bit far. The majority of us Australians want the R rating, its just that one State Attorney or whatever he's called.

No surprise that most of them on the list are banned in Australia and Germany.
