So Lego Rock Band has been released with other big titles coming out around the same time. But don't forget about this little gem! Here are ten reasons why you MUST get Lego Rock Band

10.) You Are Supporting the “Not Having Seven ‘Hero’ Games a Year” Movement.
While Harmonix does indeed offer DLC every week, they do not over-saturate the rhythm market to the point of it being in your face every other month.

9.) Easy Achievements.
Its those great kind of achievements that you get just by playing the game. No searching every level for a hidden skull or any crap like that, just play your best and you’ll end up with more than half of the 1,000 gamerscore points.

8.) It’s For Everybody
Seriously, this game is for every single person, drunk players or families have lots of options:

‘Super Easy’ mode where players only have to strum the notes at the right time (you can hold down ANY fret button) There is an option available to automate the kick pedal for the drums for kids with short legs or those with leg disabilities. There’s a toggle for the short “radio edit” version of a track design for young children with short attention spans.

7.) Challenges
Yeah you go on tour, but while on tour there are many crazy challenges that await you. These challenges are a huge part of the game and make it a little different than playing regular Rock Band, in a fun way. An example: a song plays while you fight of a giant damn octopus! It’s cool, you still get money and fans.

6.) You Can Build Your Own LEGO Rock Band Bus
Similar to the figurines offered with Rock Band 2, you can make yourself a cool little pieces of memorabilia representing the game.

Side note: Worth mentioning because it’s cool, the LEGO Guitar

5.) Comparing Tracklists to the Nearest Competitor is Crazy
The best tracks from Band Hero (Devo – Whip It, Jackson 5- ABC, Joan Jett – Bad Reputation, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones – Impression That I Get, Spice Girls – Wannabe) are a fart in the wind to LEGO Rock Band’s tracks: Bryan Adams, Elton John, Queen (twice), Ray Parker Jr. with the Ghostbusters Theme, and even Carl Douglas (you may know him as the ‘Kung Fu Fightin’‘ guy). There are too many to list. Tracks alone should lure you into getting this game.

But I can't stand the Rock Band/Guitar Hero game series.

      So then don't buy it.

I will likely get this because it has songs I actually like. Which is why I got Rock Band n the first place.

Well duh, if you don't like it then don't get it. Its not saying "every person must buy this game!", its "every person who loves GH/RB must buy this"

It was merely a lighthearted comment in light of reasons to get _______ game

HisServant77, I actually made this list for you! I believe not only should every person get this game, but specifically YOU must get it! The fact that you can't stand these 'type' of games will make you enjoy it more.

(Please ignore logic when reading my comment)

Really? Aw man, I was wondering why it was so tempting . . . but . . .

(This is meant for Paco's reply, sorry, hit the wrong button haha)

I already got it and the real incentive to me getting it was the export. Also there were about 15 songs on it that I liked, now there are roughly 30 songs on it that I like. It actually has a really good setlist.

      Big A2 Nov 17, 09
Dude, any setlist with the Ghostbusters theme songs is a good setlist.

Just looking at the tracklist, I didn't think much of it, some good tracks, some 'meh', others I just didn't know. But when you play the game through and unlock all the tracks, its easy to see they went with "fun" in mind as far as the tracks they picked.

Only song I detest on the game, on guitar, was "Kung Fu Fightning". Went through it once and was like, "wtf was THAT about!?"

Oh my god the Lego Queen is amazing! xD I want this game so bad, I might actually ask for it for Christmas! What a track listing!

If you're buying one rhythm game by justifying it as "At least it's not that OTHER rhythm game"; you need to have your logic checked.

    And easy achievements?

I remember when a "Must buy" game had was... well, a quality game that's key features were "game" related. Not, "You can export the tracks!" or "It's cheap!",

I'll go counter-argument since I made the list. The first comment I'm not sure I grasp (as my point that it isn't a "Hero" game has nothing to do with the Hero series itself, just the fact of how many of those type of games they put out in a year, which no gamer should support. Music games are made for DLC, why buy a $60 disc game when you only want 10 of the tracks on that disc? .. so no need to check the logic on that.

Easy achievements is being taken the wrong way, they are "Easy" in the sense that they are goals that would have been accomplished by playing the game anyways. Basically they aren't the Gears/Left4Dead/DeadRising type achievements that make you go out of your way to get fake points.

Exporting tracks is a huge thing (as I already kind of went over above), not only is that a key feature, but.. a huge selling point (it prevented some people from buying Beatles Rock Band).

As far as it being 'cheap' ..that is a bonus, and thus a reason why you (or everyone) "MUST get LEGO Rock Band"

But... this game IS be a $60 disk (excluding Black Friday). Why support this game if the genre is made for DLC, as you've stated.

As for achievements, it's the point that's actually considered as a purchasing point. Maybe it's not your fault, maybe it's just the current way of gaming, but the idea that people will buy a game (and there are some) simply for the point that the achievements are easy to get, is absolutely ri-*bleep*ing-diculous to me.

As for "It's cheap, it's a must buy!"; every "hero" game bundle will come with a $40 gift card from the 21 to the 27th; making many of them slightly more than $20. Hell, hundreds of games will be less than $25 on Black Friday; Does that mean all of those are "must buys" as well?

I'm merely suggesting that games should be looked at for their gaming merits, not non-issues. The comment about the soundtrack is a good start; write about the actual elements of the game, what you love about it; why it's better than the other, etc etc.

Actually, its a $50 retail game. The support with this game is it gives that option to export as DLC rather than have to use the disc every time you want to play some of the songs.

Agreed about achievement whores. They are whores.

If this was an article about Black Friday, the it being cheap thing might not be something to consider cause everything is cheap on Black Friday, but since it is about Lego Rock Band, it is a 'must buy' because of the fact that it is so cheap (and the reason I put that as reason number 1, because on top of all the great reasons why you should own it, the fact that you can get it for $20 with some new clothes beats all).

As far as writing what I love about it and what makes it better.. well.. that is all in the ten reasons. Here are some of the game specific things you speak of, tracklists (5, 4, and 3), challenges (7), game options (8), track exportation feature (2). Where as the other reasons still go into why you should get the game.

    9) Easy Achievements
I would be more inclined to by it (if I was going to buy it, which I'm not) if the game was challenging.

i really love the tracks in this game, so i got a copy of the game just for the export code, then sold the copy sans the code on eBay for as much as i got it for, therefore i get the songs in Rock Band for only $10 as opposed to $60. i did the very same thing for the AC/DC track pack. thats how i roll.

Being bombarded with Achievements isn't good, I'd rather get more, but work for them.
