actually, zelda isn't even a famous character. when i was younger, i thought for the longest time that link was named zelda, and from what i've learned after having discussions with friends of mine, they did too. link is so much more famous, even if people dont know his name.

and i question agent 47's appearance on the list.

That's very true. Even if they got the name wrong I think everyone would remember the elven green garbed sword fighting hero over some princess that in reality only gets significant screentime in a couple of Zelda games and whose speciality seems to be getting kidnapped.

I'm gonna say it, cause I know someone is gonna...

    WHERE THE *BLEEP* IS SEPHIROTH

And Cloud for that matter, I don't think there has ever been a 'favourite character' list without him being number one (though he can go suck it as far as I care, cause Zack > Cloud =D).

Cloud is more famous than Sephiroth, imo. Theres more games. and a wider audience.

Can't help but think that this list was put together for the sole purpose of encouraging people to post comments and go "what the hell, why is -- at place -- and where is -- on the list?".

No, we just thought it would be an interesting read. My personal favorite is Sonic as I have always been a big Sega fan, especially when they were making consoles.
