Despite the hype and a lot of hard work behind them, some great games never maintain to repay the effort. Here's the list of 5 games famous for bad sales numbers.

Some people blame the economy for a game’s poor sales but with the gaming industry gaining ground even in the face of the sunken economy there has to be other reasons for it. Some people blame market saturation saying there are too many desirable games to compete for the available time and cash gamers are willing to surrender. Still others think that a game’s sales have everything to do with competing titles released on or around the same date. Whatever the reason, it’s clear that some games – some solidly constructed games that should have sold – just don’t cut the mustard. Here’s my list of 5 Great Games with the Worst Sales.

Agreed with Heavenly Sword. That was a fantastic game for its time, albeit a bit short, but it didn't much attention at all, since the PS3 userbase was so small at the time.

Probably sold worse than those games and it's definitely better than them, except for maybe Psychonauts.

No kidding. Atleast SotC had some advertising to help the sales. It would have been a shame for that game to collect dust.

Good to see Psychonauts get a mention.

How the hell could they say Mirror's Edge was a great game... it didn't sell well for a reason, it sucked

Mirrors edge was a great game. It made platforming really fun.

It was an awesome game. The problem is that it was DIFFERENT from the norm, which is why so many seemed to hate it. Most played the demo, and found it took some getting used to, and then decided it was a terrible game since it wasn't the generic game.

Well, some genuinely didn't like it, like you But most it's unwarranted.

But you didn't like it because of the enemies? Wow, Most other people said the opposite Lol

I didn't like the enemies really. Absolutely freakin' loved the time trial modes but throwing in guns to satisfy Joe 'Retard' Average didn't work well for me, unfortunately.

Dead Space didn't sell well? Hmm. It was my 2008 Game of the Year.

Heavenly Sword was just a garbage game. I rented it and couldn't even keep the game for one day it was that awful. Tedious God of War wanna-be with HORRIBLE controls. Ugh.

Mirrors Edge was awesome, but I understand crappy sales. It isn't worth a purchase.

Dead Space was more of a rent game, though I may go buy it since DS2 is coming out.
