GameDaily continues to build their top lists in somewhat grumpy mood. This time, they've featured a list of 5 overrated games in 2009. Some may disagree with their choice.

It happens every year. Both journalists and hardcore gamers flip out over a video game, giving it numerous awards and high scores. Then we sit down to play this supposed virtual epiphany and have no idea what they're talking about. Welcome to the most overrated games of 2009, a collection of massively hyped and underwhelming titles that never deserved so much unnecessary praise, even from us. With that, let's begin.

    I've never played it but from what I heard from people who do have it, Brutal Legend was really good. I also didn't see that much hype for it to be honest. Meh, we still love you Jack Black.

    ODST is highly overrated, going by what I've heard from Halo fans I know. Haven't played it, though.

    Worst list ever. Blazblue wasn't even that hyped but people like it because it's a good game. Where's all the games that were actually over-rated?

      Damn straight, this is just a troll article IMO.

      Demon's Souls is a title that rewards patience, it's hardly unfair. I've played through a New Game twice using two very different types of characters. There are definitely growing pains along the way though!

        i think i'm on playthrough 52, if we're counting. i think the people that can't beat it are the people that are used to being spoonfeed tutorials.

      You can't be serious, Demon's Souls was not overrated at all.

    This list is wrong. It doesn't even have Prototype in it, and they have Brutal Legend up there. :X

      Prototype wasn't overrated though, whether or not it was better than BL or not. It was received as a good game with a number of flaws, which it was. Brutal Legend was received as the almighty game of both hilarity and awesomeness, which it wasn't.

      Overrated =/= bad or good.

    I would have been more interested in Demon's Souls if it wasn't too hard. They could have at least assigned difficulties or something. I'll still try it out but the difficulty is usually a big issue for me. So in a way, I kinda understand their frustration with the game.

      the neoseeker forum for demon's souls has quite a few people willing to help you and several pages full of builds, equipment, and the like.

      i'd be surprised if you continued to think the game was hard with any of us helping you.

    What a terrible list, I disagree, I thought Brutal Legend was a great game and enjoyed it, and I'm very sure that there was a lot of over rated games that should be on that list, those games are under rated.
