    I did MLG for Halo 2 and reached the long trip up to ran 50 but I could never get pasted Halo 3.. a great beginning dwindled into a disappointing series.

    I think I can guess how Reach will play.

    As the spartan at the end clearly stated,"No more Lone Wolf stuff". As in, SQUADS! The leaked pics also confirm this,right?

    NOW what if the game is 8-16 players online like Halo 3. NOW, wanna know how squad based gameplay would work?

    Simple. If you have 8 vs 8 people, all real players, then you can assign 5 NPC squad mates to each person. Thus, you'll have 48 people per team, and up to 96 people altogether on one map. That way, it means OPEN HUGE LEVELS with many vehicles. BUT it also means your squad of NPCs would have to be obedient as hell and not have crappy A.I. Also, it'd be cool to choose and customize your squad.

    This would work in an 8 V 8, because two people can combine their squads to lead an attack of 12 on the enemy team. So, it can benefit from teamwork and nonteamwork. Even 1 on 1 matches would work.

      I don't doubt that the campaign will be squad-based, but the multiplayer? I'm sure all the old fans would have a fit if it didn't keep the same formula.

      I admit your idea does sound a bit interesting though. I had a similar idea for Rainbow Six. I loved the team tactics in it's campaign more than I loved the multiplayer, so I always thought it would be awesome to actually be able to control a squad in multiplayer.

        Well Bungie gave that hint,"Its what we'd expect from halo, but its different enough to warrant a tutorial upon starting the game"

          I'd imagine just for the campaign though. Probably just the controls to quickly learn how to control your team. I don't think they'll ever drastically change the multiplayer as long as they are the ones making the games.

        i might buy the campaign being squad based, but i doubt multiplayer. would be too different and hard for a Halo game which is fast paced. and what would be the squad command button(s)? the d-pad isnt doing anything important. something like:

        Up=charge
        Down=defend me
        Left=use your weakest weapon
        Right=use your most powerful weapon\grenades

        that would make the most sense to me for a Halo type game.

      Squads never really work in Multilayer, Battlefield has had squads for absolutely ages and they never really work unless your in a clan or something. Thats why they practically abandoned it in the newer games.

      A lot of people don't play multi-player for the joyous fact that there playing with other people. Its just better than AI bots. Its why we have noobs who piss around and team kill, and people who play without mics and people who don't listen and go rambo. Quite rarely do you get actual team work in games.

    I think the frontline or epic points aren't very well thought out. Let's say Bungie puts in as the author puts it "Pure, unadulterated, epic sized action." including massive battlefields and large scale warfare. You take two steps forward, and your dead from dozens of enemies targeting you, not to mention the graphics suffering. Bungie know how to make a level work, this guy doesn't.

      unless theres plenty of destroyed vehicles or things to hide behind on the big battlefield and you have to make your way by taking down any Covies you can see while running to the next cover.
