Some games have set standards for gameplay or for original storytelling, while others are remembered for the incredible graphics and artistic vision. Both groups set themselves apart from the rest of games thanks to the great artwork.

There has been a heated argument over whether or not video games can be considered an art form. One side's augment is that something interactive, that is subjective to the user's choice cannot be art. I wholeheartedly disagree. It is an art because we can choose, because we can make games something different, unique to the player. Art is not a single definition, it doesn't have boundaries. When you confine something like art, to take it away from everyday life; it starts it to lose its meaning. It isn't up to some snob to decide if games can or cannot be art, it is each person's choice. Much like other forms of art, the beauty of video games is all in the eye of the beholder. It is up to the whomever is viewing it to decide if it is art or not.

I really like the basis of this argument. I do believe that even games can be considered art.. how many times do you find yourself in awe of the graphics your games produce.. I mean.. it has to take more thought and time to create these worlds of escapism then some of this crap they put into frames...

i thought it was impossible to use the words 'art' and 'video games' in the same sentence while not simultaneously sucking braids proverbial dick.
