This is a list of the top 10 next-generation video game soundtracks (in-game music) from gaming website PlanetXbox360.com - most of them are fantastic to listen to.
Video games have taken on a life of their own. They can show us things that we could never dream of, giving us compelling and visceral narratives that books and films couldn’t necessarily offer the gaming community. But while these experiences are endowed with a unique quality in regards to gameplay and graphics, there is an aspect that is at times overlooked, which many games hinge their entire livelihood upon. For many titles, music defines the game. After all, an entire genre has been built around the concept. But, music titles aside, I’m talking about games where the soundtrack serves to immerse the player into the game, drowning them in the universe that the developers created. When this is accomplished, it significantly enhances the experience of the game itself, propelling a title that may have just been good to amazing. Thus, I present the top ten video game soundtracks of the Xbox 360.

I mean, come on, let's get real here:
Gears of War 2
Street Fighter 4
Fallout 3
BioShock
Modern Warfare 2
Halo 3
Batman: Arkham Asylum
Mass Effect
Granted, they have Katamari and some obscure geometry game, but the list could just as easily be named "Top-Selling, Most Widely-Known Action and/or Shooter Games on the Xbox 360"... Halo 3 has a good soundtrack, Fallout 3, yes, and I'll admit I've never played Mass Effect - but a lot of the games just seem thrown in because a lot of people have heard about them and they might have a good track or two, not a truly deep, engaging OST.
For an Xbox 360 game, I'd cast my vote for Lost Odyssey, but it's obviously not on this list because it's a JRPG and didn't sell a gazillion units.
And what, Monster Hunter 3 doesn't count on this list because it's not on the Xbox 360 0_o?
I do agree with you that the list is focused on widely known games only.
And I also agree the article title is misleading. The "HD Era" also includes the PS3, which is not a part of this article. If it was then you'd see a game called Uncharted 2 on there.
The maker of this list is a heavy shooter whore by the looks of it.
Its part of the "Soundtrack for Badass Mutha's" Soundtrack.
