This is a list of the top 20 most disappointing games of 2009, from gaming website PlanetXbox360.com - it features embedded trailers for each choice, and then explains why that game was chosen, enjoy!

With every passing year players all over the world are subjected to games both good and bad. To be brutally honest, people love a loser far more than a winner because we get some amount of twisted enjoyment out of seething our hatred upon something we know is a piece of complete and utter crap. So for the year 2009, I offer up to you the top 20 video games that made me scream in anger, roll my eyes with annoyance, and curse at the sky with dismay. I have a feeling that at least one of these resulted in a broken console, controller, or at the very least a cracked television. This list is just one person's opinion so there are many of my choices that you may disagree with, or whole-heartedly agree with – either way let's take a walk down memory lane 2009 – even if the walk is one of agony.

I don't understand the reasoning for Lego Rock Band at all. It was a game meant for kids, yet this dude wants it as DLC...Uhh...that wouldn't have made the platform family-friendly at all.

Just think RB2 is for the teens/adults and LRB is for the young-uns. Now on that basis, does it qualify as being a "disappointment"?

And LOL @ GH: Van Halen being so high on the list.

And for the love of GOD, its NOT Rock Band: The Beatles you moron! Its The Beatles: Rock Band! Does it look like some cheap GH gimmick to you?!

I remember several other articles of theirs that were sub-par/borderline mediocre.

I agree Lego Rock Band? it was a kids game everything about it was a meant for kids. Easy to unlock stuff, not having to play the campaign to unlock songs, no online play and oh yeah LEGOs!

LOTR Conquest and Wolverine ok, Wolvie was definitely better than the movie anyway. Lego Rock Band was good for the extra song downloads at least for regular RB (there were some surprisingly good ones in LRB).

Ghostbusters was NOT disappointing, if you are a fan of the films. apparently the guy that wrote this isnt. i thoroughly enjoyed the game other than it being a bit short. it certainly was no Batman AA in terms of movie or franchise based games but damn if it wasnt pretty good. better than Wolverine, Avatar, and any other movie based games you can name.

Not a single game on that list that I own or have owned was disappointing.Though that's only 2 games on the list that I hae owned.

Wolverine was bloody awesome imo.I still own it.

I wasn't disappointed in FEAR 2 and the only reason I got rid of it was because for a short period of time I would use any excuse to trade in a game.

Anyway RE5 was really the only game I was disappointed in this year.I feel that RE5 is easily the worst main RE game there is.

Wolverine was good and most of the games on that list weren't dissapointments because they were obviously going to suck before they even came out.

And in the end, the disappointment you take is equal to the over-hype you make.

That's why apart from RE5 I have not been hyped by a game since GTAIV.

I read/watch very little when it comes to a game. When I buy a game the only expectation that I have is that the game will be fun.Seeing as I can usually play games that everyone else finds repetetive and have fun with them, it's not often that a game disappoints me anymore.

GTAIV and RE5 are the only games this gen that have disappointed me.

GTAIV I expected would be insanely fun simply because it is GTA and GTA is always insanely fun and has lots of replayabilty.I LOVED GTAIV till I finished the story but found there was barely any fun once that was done.

RE5 I expected to be insanely fun because RE4 was so much fun that I finished it 9 times before I stopped playing it.RE5 on the other hand, had you not been able to replay any chapter whenever you wanted, I would have stopped playing it after my 1st playthrough.

Because it delivered. If you hype yourself for a game thinking it's epic but it's just 'good' than it's ruined. Hype yourself for a game thinking it's great and it's great and it's all good.

Just don't over-hype on a game that won't deliver and you can enjoy most thing.
