Dengeki has released the results of a readers poll in which people voted for what they thought was the best game of 2009. A list of the top 20 has been published on their website and Final Fantasy XIII has managed to secure second place. Although there has been a backlash of Japanese fans who have complaints ranging from Final Fantasy XIII's linearity to there being no levels, it still seems to have won people over.

That being said, I'm sure I'll still love FFXIII.
What a strange coincidence that two games which received a lot of hate in Japan immediately following their release ended up on top.
so did they hate the game or did they like the game? two days ago everyone is going on about how everyone hates ff13, and now its the 2nd best game of 2009? wtf happened?
Don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled that it got a high spot, kind of a smack in the face for all the nay-sayers, but I'm just kind of curious. Results skewed a bit, possibly? Or mainly due to the fact that it was the freshest game on everyone's mind at the end of the year?
