Indeed, NFS is somewhat like Fast and Furious, heh.
take warcraft and starcraft and legend of Kain off that list...
But the games themselves, I play for the story and (now) the nostalgia. The gameplay was never really the benchmark of the series. Though SR1 did revolutionize games at the time for its "no load times". They are definitely worth a buy on the PSN though.
But would LoK make a good movie? Probably not. Not unless it was all done in CGI, and even then, it'd probably end up cheesy and over-the-top.
All of those games have good storylines and can be incorporated into a movie.
Halo and Bioshock would work
Half Life series would only work if they left Gordon Freeman as a mute or had an awesome person that understands the game to give him lines
The only problem with making some games into movies is that most games allow customisation, multiple methods of playing and aimed at one specific person.
This leaves out most games that have awesome storylines. Games like Mass Effect would work because straight away they have defined Shepard as a male but in game you can choose to be male or female.
Games like Fallout on the other hand leave too much choice to the player, meaning the movie would attract 50% of the gaming audience or would only make it 50% successful
This is why everyone says a "warcraft" movie would be good but not a "world of warcraft" movie.
Again Assassin's Creed would be good because you already have choices such as gender, role etc. set for you.
