I agree and disagree at the same time about the number one choice. In SWG's early months, it was an awesome game that definitely could have contended with WoW. The developers just ended up making some terrible, horrible choices, utterly ignoring the advice and complaints of their players with a condescending "We know what we're doing" attitude. Honestly, it started out with so much potential. The fact that it was run by morons is the disappointing part.

GTAIV and RE5 are at the top of my list.

Now while it was disappointing at first playing as Raiden for 90% of MGS2, I enjoyed playing as him and in the end I wasn't disappointed in MGS2 at all.MGS2 was imo *bleep*ing AWESOME.

There's something so satisfying, yet disappointing about RE5. I can't put my finger on it. On one hand, it's the most fun I'd had with a next-gen game in a long time. I loved the co-op because I could play with family/friends, I loved that they continued the Chris/Jill/Wesker story, I loved the graphics, etc.
On the other hand, I was continuously disappointed with Capcom's stupid design choices to the point where I was tempted to just quit. Stupid majini, stupid level designs (an Indiana Jones temple. Seriously?!), stupid expansion of Wesker's past, etc.

I don't know if I love it or hate it. My poor confused mind.

RE5 was one of the best co-op experiences I've ever had, but I agree with how "un-resident evil" it felt.

For me there wasn't really anything exciting about RE5.Pretty much the only thing I really liked about RE5 was it's graphics.

RE5 was a HUGE disappointment in my eyes.On an excitement scale scale of 1-10 I would give RE5 a 2.
    GTAIV I would give a 5.

I played Lair, and despite its shortcomings, was a very solid game. Some epic setpieces and ironically natural motion controls, it was a refreshing experience from the hordes of shooters that mobbed the consoles.

GTA IV would have to be top of my list. When you think how great San Andreas and Vice City were, you realise that GTA IV contains absoloutely nothing new.
