One thing (among numerous things) that I don't like about XIII's is that you can only control one person
Right now i'm enjoying FFXIII's battle system alot, less time to think, gotta act fast and not wait around.
Same here,that level of customization is why V is one of my favorite FF games.
And I too am enjoying XIII's battle system so far,but I give you,I wish you didn't have to wait to get upgrades for crystarium,since it puts a limit on how much your team can grow up to a certain point in the story....
I don't agree with this article about VIII though. I personally loved how you can junction magic to your character's stats,because that way,you have almost COMPLETE control over everyone's stats.
And you also have the aura spell,which allows you to use your limit breaks without having to have low HP.
