Every gaming icon needs a buddy to back him up in times of need. These so called 'sidekicks' are often the reason for the greatness that is bestowed upon our favorite heroes. Here are the Top 5 sidekicks in gaming.

While the confetti falls over gamings greatest heroes, and the crowds and massing fanboys scream their names till their lungs give out, there’s someone (or something) standing in the shadows; avoiding the spotlight and appreciation in order to give the leading character the admiration they deserve. Ah sidekicks – the selfless buddies who give up the spotlight just so the leading protagonist’s can absorb all the glory.

        Sheva is better then RE5 & Movie Jill, she isn't anywhere as near awesome as RE, RE3, REmake Jill.

    Wtf, weres Clank? Seriously you CANNOT have a Top Sidekicks list and not include Clank, he's possibly THE BEST sidekick EVER along with Daxter!

    I wouldn't even count most of those characters because you can actually PLAY as 'em.

    After playing BC2 I would SO put Pvt. Haggard in there.

    If you can put character you played as in then wouldn't all generic thin deeply detailed list articles be about characters have Captain Price, Soap MacTavish, Ghost/Gaz, Sgt Griggs and the rest of the FPS idols?

    Only FPS 'sidekicks' I would list would be Haggard from BC (For sheer comic relief) and maybe Price
