Go Fanboy's Craig Hasselback compiled a list of the top five franchises, along with some honorable mentions, that they'd like to se brought back to gaming because of their previous success on consoles.

The world of video games has companies, mascots and franchises scattered throughout the past that never reached their full potential. Those series and mascots ended and no one blinked an eye. But what about those great game franchises that really were good, but for some reason went missing? We've compiled a list of the top five franchises that we consider to be the most wanted franchises that have disappeared. The franchises span multiple console generations and various platforms, but one thing they all have in common is that they were great.

    Rayman and Gex were absolutely brilliant! Would never work as games on the next-gen consoles though in my opinion.

    Ahh, I remember gex. Even though i only played one of them, it was still fun.

    And sly was a blast, but I feel like im too old to play it now, after looking back at it.

    Only ones I really cared about were SSX and Rayman...neither of which grabbed much of my attention.

    I remember all of these but Vectorman and those that were honorable mentioned. I had always wondered what happened with Gex and Sly Cooper.

    Voodoo Vince was a great concept, but I think it was designed for younger gamers. Legacy of Kain games interested me a lot, but you can only push so many boxes against so many walls.
