Earthbound may not be as well known as Mario or Zelda, but this Nintendo franchise has some seriously devoted fans. One reason is that it has a lot to teach us about life. Here are five vaulable lessons we learned from the game.

One of these was the Mother series, simply known as "Earthbound" in its non-Japanese release. This eccentric, adorable and engrossing game, while a commercial failure in its time and unable to spawn a modern successor (at least in the US market), still has much to teach us.
