Whether gamers like him or not, Mark Wahlberg will be donning the jeans and ragged long-shirt that made Nathan Drake popular in a movie version of the popular game. The article lists a few reasons why that may not be such a good idea.

There's very little hope that the Uncharted movie won’t suck and there’s even less hope with Wahlberg being in the lead role, and here’s a few reasons why.

The author has a serious man crush. He should get that sorted if he wants credibility.

Hmm, why not his voice actor as the starring role? xD

Hollywood likes star power. Unless the voice actor is a regular on a high-rated TV or cable show or has had some sort of critical acclaim in an indie flick, they won't even bother looking his way.

shitty plot, what about uncharted's plot is shitty? Though I do agree with storm, his voice actor probably would have been a good choice in my opinion.

The plot they've penned for the movie, which for some inexplicable reason includes his uncle and father.

Read his comment again. The shitty plot THEY have PLANNED. Meaning the plot they are going to have the movie follow, not the plot of the game.

How many video game movies do you know that have the same story as the game?

and some antique dealer in new york.

you would think this would be one of the easiest video game to turn into a movie.

I'd say the easiest would be Max Payne.

        Yep, I agree.

Max Payne was pretty much penned for being a movie and a very respectable movie at that. I'm still trying to figure out how it all went wrong.

          Ah, the Max Payne movie.

I've watched it about three times, trying to force myself to like it....I've had no such luck....

That director deserves something I can't describe here.

I wouldn't be as negative as this article, but I definitely am disapointed in the casting choice for Drake. Nolan would have been fantastic, and even without him there would have been plenty of others ahead of Wahlberg. A pity.

If only Chris Nolan did video game adaptions...
