It may not be the world's most accurate racing sim, but it still has a lot to teach us. Here are five important life lessons you can learn by playing Mario Kart. Beware of shells within.

Little did hundreds upon hundreds of driving instructors all over the world know, the final years of the twentieth century had ushered in a new breed of young, would-be drivers. They were covetous of speed, their road rage reached startling levels, and they were always on the lookout for items to be acquired while never releasing the gas pedal.

    I still remember that one race where I was in first and got hit by like 6-7 Blue Shells before I dropped near eighth place and got a Blue Shell myself. Revenge was sweet that day especially after I barely got back to first place...

    It also taught me that anything can happen. I'm guessing that I'm not the only one who's been in first on the last lap of Rainbow Road, really near the finish just to get hit by ones of those stupid blue shells and go plumetting off the course, and come last.

    I've learned all these life lessons, but none of them were taught by Mario Kart. But I would love to do a real life Mario kart race. =D

    It taught me that you can sell the same thing ten times over with a new lick of paint and idiots would still buy it.
