I don't understand this article. "Nintendo's consoles always have great games, right? Not always." Well of course not. Who said that was the case? "Here are nine notorious stinkers from Nintendo's past that the company wishes it could forget." Wait, what? Now we're just down the rabbit hole. Aside from Pokemon Channel, Nintendo had nothing to do with these games.

It means that Nintendo wish the games never came out on their console. That doesn't have to mean that Nintendo had anything to do with the games.

Take Superman 64 for example.Did you know that the game was originally going to be on the PS1 as well as the 64? It was going to be released on the PS1 after the N64 but Sony ended up not wanting the game on their console. Obviously because they knew there was nothing to gain by having a game as horrible as SM64 on the PS1.

Actually, I also felt like the article came off as stating the obvious. The actual concensus is that Nintendo's in-house developement teams generally don't make bad games for their consoles. On the other hand, I can't recall anyone ever saying Nintendo doesn't license bad 3rd party games. Personally, I could compile an infinitely longer list than the one provided in this article.

Eh, I don't know. I think that's a bit of a broad interpretation. At best, it's a sensationalist, dubious way to put it if that's the case. All systems have bad games, and I'm not sure the manufacturer cares. They get the licensing fee either way.

Also, Sony did not veto Superman 64 on their machine. Actually, they approved it. But after the failure of SM64, the decision was made internally within the game's studio to halt the port and retool the entire game. During development, the license expired. That's why the game never appeared on the PS1. Sony didn't do jack.

Well I was just recalling as much as I could remember from reading it in a PS mag many years ago so I couldn't remember the actual details.

I was surprised that Bebe's Kids was omitted from this list. When Nintendo Power did their list of the 10 Worst Games back when their 100th Issue ran several years ago, Bebe's Kids was the top of the bottom at that particular time.

Whether that is the case now or not I don't know, but that's proof that every company that makes great games also has a few stinkers get released as well.

I think the list is awful, Superman 64 is not the worst game ever to be released on a Nintendo console.

There are far worse, broken piles of crap out there.

Superman 64 was a bad game, but it wasn't actually broken and if you played it enough the controls became like 2nd nature.
